The Testimony of A GIRL, CHAN SREYPICH in SVAY RIENG Province
The girl Chan Srey Pich, 14-year-old, lives in Svay Chrum district, Svay Rieng province. Svay Rieng province is located in the southeastern part of the country, surrounded to the north and east by Vietnam. Svay Rieng Province borders only Prey Veng province. Bavet is a large city in Svay Rieng province, adjacent to the international border between Cambodia and Vietnam.
The province is subdivided into 8 districts. Svay Rieng province is included 8 districts: 1) Chantrea district, 2) Kampong Roh district, 3) Romduol district, 4) Romeas Haek district, 5) Svay Chrum district, 6) Svay Rieng district, 7) Svay Tienb district and Krong Bavet. The total communes are 80 communes and 690 villages. The current population in this province is about 550,466 people or 3.8% of the country's total population (14,363,519 people in Cambodia, 2007, provincial government data), with 261,318 males and 289,148 females. The population density is therefore 185.6 people per square kilometer.
The girl Chan Srey Pich is a stubborn, rebellious child, disobeying her mother and father, she is a child who does not understand the feelings of others. Moreover, Srey Pich likes to make her siblings cry and never helps to work for her parents at all. Every day, however, she always goes out with her companies, Srey Pich also makes quarrels with her friends. Also, when her parents called her to help them, she always argues with her parents. The girl Srey Pech is a less educated girl because she never obeys her teachers in the classroom, so Srey Pich often makes her parents to be frustrated with her because of her lack of respect to the elderly.
One day, I was walking down the street in my village and found a large crowd of young children surrounding a man, who is speaking to those young children about Jesus Christ. I also walked into the crowd to hear what the man said. At that moment, I also heard what he said: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.””
Coming to this phrase shakes my heart to the attention of the phrase: “Children, …“Honor your father and mother”…“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Then I asked him, "What does it mean "go well" uncle? And how is disobedience to parents, and what is the act? The man turned to me and answered with a smiling to my question with a fresh phrase: What we do not obey the parents, those are slanders, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; then they are the people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, abusive, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
So children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord, even as it is in the law, honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Every word of that man reminds me of my mind, and in my brain, I do not have time to forget. Just a man stopped to speak, I did not delay, ask him again, I asked him his name. Can I have your name, please, uncle? What is your name? Just after the inquiry, the man immediately replied. Yes, my dear babe, I am an evangelist of Jesus Christ, my name is Duong Sareth. I have come here to bring the Good News of Salvation to the people of this village to accept the Lord, Jesus Christ, the Savior from sin. At the same time, we will also establish the church of Christ in this village. My dear niece, is there anything that touches your heart with the Word? Do you really believe there is a Savior, Jesus Christ? Immediately, my lips were lifted up, and I said, "Yes, pastor, I believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, a true Redeemer of humanity from the sin." As soon as these words were ended, the little ones who stood with me lifted up their voices and said, "We have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ for the redemption from our sins, too." Then, when the pastor lays his hands on our heads and prays to the Lord Jesus Christ to accept us as His children. At the end of the prayer, he is scheduled to meet with us to study the Word of God at a church building not far from there, with a cross put up on the roof as a note.
Before long, our team of boys and girls had clearly understood the Word, and the pastor and the elders in the church prepared our baptism. Following the steadfast faith of the Lord Jesus Christ, I share the Good News to my parents, who have so often blamed and rebuked me before. With my perseverance, I have always told about Jesus Christ to my parents. One day, God called them to accept faith, and they dedicated themselves to the Lord, just like me.
Now I am thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ that transforms me and the whole family to get salvation from the Son of the Highest Heavenly Father, the Almighty God, the God is over all gods, the Great Doctor is overall doctors, the Shepherd of the Lamb, who is a hunger for righteousness. At this moment, peace is also happening in my family and in my village, who are living with us, therefore we encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact we are doing. But we, the whole family as well as our fellow believers in the village, those who hope in the LORD will renew our strength. We will soar on wings like eagles; we will run and grow wear, we will walk and not be faint. As the Word of God as written in Scriptures Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set ablaze." So the name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. I praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. Amen.
